WHY THIS TRIP WILL BE AMAZING!!!
  • TNT is a really well known company in Quebec and gets exclusive rights to use the Loews le Concorde, a super luxurious hotel in QC. Guys, the hotel is BALLIN! I'm talkin chocolates-in-your-room ballin. I've stayed there several times on tour and its seriously amazing. Just across the street is Chez Dagobert, more commonly known as the Dag. 3 floors of bumpin music, bars, and huge dance floor with sick lights and laser effects! FREE COVER and CHEAP DRINKS!!

  • The hotel in Montreal is TBD, but every hotel I've stayed at in Montreal is gorgeous and super close to bars and shopping. It will most likely be Courtyard Marriott, Best Western or Holiday Inn.

  • If we have more than 20 people from Mississauga (which I'm sure we will) the tour bus will pick us up right at UTM.

  • Quebec drinking age is 18 for you youngsters! (MAKE SURE YOU BRING ID!)

  • This trip is not sanctioned by any particular entity (e.g. U of T) other than TNT tours meaning you can invite absolutely ANYONE to come! The more the merrier!

  • Jeremy De Freitas, friend of SSLUR, will be leading the tour!!!

ALL this for $299+$50 tax and service charge
(includes $19.76 gst)
*Great gift to ask for Christmas! Or go halfs with the parents! *
Meals are NOT included.
(But you will be shown where the best cheap food spots are!)
Rooms accomodate 4 people, so sign up with your friends and get a room to yourselves!

Hey guys!

It's election time! This year was a great first year for SSLUR - we had really successful events and got to meet a lot of you. Lucas and I had an awesome time doing the SSLUR thing, but we've decided that it'll be way better for the club if there was a full exec next year (more people organizing stuff = more events). Unfortunately, Luke is leaving us next year (he chose bones over boards - he'll be prez of the anthro club - congrats Luke, you traitor). So that means there's even more need for an exec, cuz i can't do it all alone.

So here are the positions available and what each position is going to be responsible for:

PREZ:
- SAC and ECSU liaison; club recognition
- Securing and managing the SSLUR office
- Contacting resorts for ski/snowboard trips
- Securing funding

VICE (we want two people to be co-vice):
- renew local merchant discounts
- book bus for trips
- order SSLUR sweatshirts, toques
- co-ordinate volunteer ski/board instructors

ADVERTISING & COMMUNICATIONS:
- get ads for SSLUR events to the Medium
- make flyers/posters for trips
- co-ordinate volunteers for postering runs
- co-ordinate exec meetings & next year’s elections

TREASURER:
- collect $$ for events
- manage and balance bank account
- distribute $$
- report spending at the end of the year

Of course, I’ll be there, and Luke says he’s going to hang around as Co-Founding Advisor, to help out since we did all of the above this year.

BENEFITS of being a SSLUR exec:
- free/cheaper rates for trips, events
- lower costs for SSLUR gear
- FUN!!!

If you want to run for something (do it! It’s a lot of fun, not too much work, and a great way to meet like-minded people at UTM), please email me before next Wednesday, March 31st, with a couple of sentences about yourself and why you should get the position. I’ll send out an email that Thursday with everyone’s name and blurbs and the position they’re running for.

Voting will take place during office hours (noon-2) on Wednesday, April 7th. Alternatively, if you can’t make it, send me an email with your choices.
